How to Use The Nomad Ice Boxes for Your Medical Injections

The Nomad ice boxes for insulin and medicine are super easy to use. Just follow these steps:

1. Prepare the Biogel Ice Pack: Shake the Biogel ice pack four or five times to ensure the gel is evenly distributed.
2. Freeze the Ice Pack: Place the Biogel ice pack in the freezer for 6–8 hours. Don’t worry if it stays frozen for longer—it’s completely fine!
3. Activate the Ice Pack: Submerge the frozen Biogel ice pack in lukewarm tap water for 2–3 minutes. This removes the frost layer and prevents the risk of freezing your medicine. No lukewarm water available? Simply leave it at room temperature for 15–20 minutes instead. The warm water method is more efficient, especially in different seasonal conditions.
4. Dry and Load your Medication: Towel-dry the Biogel ice pack and place it into the insulated cooling box along with your insulin or medication.
5. Secure the Lid: Firmly close the lid. Job done!

Cooling Efficiency by Box Size

The cooling performance of the Nomad medical ice boxes depends on the size of the model you’re using. The Large Box delivers slightly more cooling duration compared to the Small Box.

🌡️ At 30°C: Keeps your insulin and medications perfectly refrigerated at 2°C–8°C for up to 33 hours, and cool below 26°C for an impressive 52 hours.

🌡️ At 35°C: Maintains refrigeration between 2°C–8°C for 30 hours, and cooling below 26°C for 48 hours.

🌡️ At 40°C: Ensures refrigeration at 2°C–8°C for 28 hours, and keeps it cool below 26°C for 46 hours.

❄️ Small Nomad Ice Box Cooling Duration

🌡️ At 30°C: Keeps insulin and medications refrigerated at 2°C–8°C for up to 30 hours, and cool below 26°C for 48 hours.

🌡️ At 35°C: Maintains refrigeration at 2°C–8°C for 28 hours, and cooling below 26°C for 46 hours.

🌡️ At 40°C: Ensures refrigeration at 2°C–8°C for 26 hours, and keeps it cool below 26°C for 44 hours.

The Nomad Medical Ice Boxes come with one Biogel Ice pack included. For continuous use, we recommend purchasing additional Biogel Ice Packs. Simply keep them in the freezer so they’re ready to swap out whenever needed.
