User Guide & Cooling Efficiency

To get the most out of your Explorer Insulin Carrying Case Cooler, it’s all about mastering its ingenious three-in-one cooling methods.

Versatile and adaptable, this insulin travel case cooler works with USB power, ice packs, or a clever combination of the two.

Follow this guide to use it properly and discover the cooling performance each method delivers.

1. DUAL MODE: USB + ICE PACK COOLING CASE

For maximum cooling efficiency, the Explorer Insulin cooling case combines its Biogel ice pack with the USB-powered lid.

This dual cooling method ensures your insulin pens and vials stay cool for up to three days, even in the height of summer.

🔧 How To Use The Dual Cooling Mode:

  1. Prepare the Biogel Ice Pack: Give it a good shake, up and down, four or five times to evenly distribute the gel.
  2. Freeze the Ice Pack: Pop it into the freezer for 6–8 hours. No worries if it stays frozen longer—it’s perfectly fine!
  3. Activate the Ice Pack: Before using, submerge the frozen cooling pack in lukewarm tap water for 2–3 minutes to remove frost and prevent the risk of freezing your insulin. If warm water isn’t available, leave it at room temperature for 15–20 minutes instead.
  4. Dry and Load: Towel-dry the ice pack, then place it into the cooling compartment alongside your insulin pens or vials.
  5. Seal and Power Up: Secure the USB lid and connect your cooling case to a USB power source. That’s all there is to it!

Proven Cooling Efficiency on Dual Mode (USB + Ice Pack)

Laboratory tests highlight the Explorer’s impressive combined cooling capabilities when used on dual mode:

🌡️ At 30°C, it maintains fridge temperatures of 2–8°C for 52 hours and keeps insulin cool below 26°C for 72 hours.

🌡️ At 35°C, it refrigerates for 50 hours and keeps insulin cool for 70 hours.

🌡️ At 40°C, it refrigerates for 48 hours and keeps insulin cool for 68 hours.

This dual cooling method is perfect for extended travel or challenging summer conditions, ensuring your insulin stays always cold, safe, and secure.

2. ICE PACK INSULIN COOLING CASE MODE

When you're off the grid or prefer to travel light, this insulin carrying case doubles as a simple cooling case. It's an ideal solution for air travel or remote adventures.

🔧 How to Use on Ice Pack Mode

  1. Switch the Lid: Replace your carrying case USB lid with the regular lid.
  2. Prepare the Biogel Ice Pack: Give it a good shake, up and down, four or five times to evenly distribute the gel.
  3. Freeze the Ice Pack: Place the Biogel ice pack in the freezer for 6–8 hours. No worries if it stays frozen longer—it’s perfectly fine.
  4. Activate the Ice Pack: Before using, submerge the frozen Biogel ice pack in lukewarm tap water for 2–3 minutes to remove any frost. Alternatively, leave it at room temperature for 15–20 minutes. The warm water method is more efficient in all seasons.
  5. Dry and Load: Towel-dry the Biogel ice pack and place it into the cooling case alongside your insulin or medicines.
  6. Seal the Lid: Secure the regular lid, and you're ready to go!

Proven Cooling Performance on Cooling Case Mode

🌡️ At 30°C: Keeps insulin refrigerated between 2–8°C for 33 hours and cool below 26°C for 52 hours.

🌡️ At 35°C: Keeps insulin refrigerated between 2–8°C for 30 hours and cool below 26°C for 48 hours.

🌡️ At 40°C: Keeps insulin refrigerated between 2–8°C for 28 hours and cool below 26°C for 46 hours.

Each Explorer Insulin Carrying Case Cooler includes one Biogel Ice Pack as standard. For uninterrupted cooling, additional Biogel Ice packs compatible with the Explorer can be purchased separately. Simply keep them frozen and ready to swap out when needed!

3. USB TRAVEL CASE COOLER MODE

While the USB lid alone doesn’t keep insulin refrigerated, it’s perfect for keeping open and in-use pens and vials cool and protected from heat. It ensures they stay safely at room temperature below 26°C, ideal for ongoing use.

This function works effectively in environments with ambient temperatures up to 30°C, offering the following cooling performance:

🌡️ At 30°C, the USB Cooling Mode lowers the internal temperature by approximately 15°C compared to the surrounding air, maintaining a consistent range of 8-26°C for as long as it remains plugged into a power source.
